What is aging? In order to fight something, we must know about it first. Aging is a process of degradation of cells. We had the regenerative ability when we were young. But as the time goes by, we gradually lose that ability. Aging seems to be the side effect of maturation. And no one can escape aging.
However, we have invented technology and science to halt aging. Since the primary signs are related to changes in appearance, we have managed to alter those changes with medical technology. Wrinkles can be treated with dermal fillers, gray hair can be dyed, and baldness can be overcome with a hair transplant.
Scientists aren’t so sure about what causes aging, but they theorize that aging is a result of a combination of many factors, such as genes, lifestyle, and diseases. They make some people either age faster or slower than the others.
Treatments for Aging
Throughout the history, people have searched for the unique recipe of anti-aging. Even since the earliest of time, people tried to find so-called “The Fountain of Youth” way to reverse aging process. Kings and queens employed the wise people or local shaman to find the cure of their aging look.
Today, science has brought us hormonal, telomere-based, and stem cells treatment. Drugs and creams that can be administered by oneself are also available on the market. Some of them work, while some other bear harms if done too frequently.
For example, the injection of vitamin c and antioxidant to the skin can make it look radiant and bright instantly. But if you overdo the treatment, your kidneys will be at risk.
Natural Treatments Coming into Play
Natural treatments are less harmful, but they are also less effective. Everything comes at a price, and fighting aging with mild medications will only give you non-visible benefits. You must also be very disciplined about consuming those medicines.
For treating the signs of aging on the skin, you can use olive oil, aloe-vera, egg whites, banana, and honey. They are best to apply on as cosmetic masks. For oral consumption, supplements made of ginger, berry, ginseng, and wormwood are known to have high anti-radicals and natural antioxidant. Those chemicals can help your body to regenerate more cells, which in turn can slow down the aging process.
However, taking supplements is not enough. A lifestyle that promotes balance activities and nutrition is the key to a forever-young look. Sedentary habits make your body look much older than it is.
You need to keep your body at work to keep all the gears and engines functional. As a matter of fact, the older you get, the more active you must be.
Fighting aging needs a holistic approach. It means that you must incorporate nutrients, supplements, and habits to achieve the young and healthy appearance. But to realize such knowledge is far from easy.
We all have our routines that cannot tolerate our health needs. And that is when we must take the hard decision of whether to change ourselves for good but at a high cost, or maintain what we have always been but with our health at risk.
